Back for Easter

Much of the term has meant, for many, more remote learning. While we had lots of fun on Zoom classes, fitness and choir, alongside creative Edmodo assignments, it was great to have everyone back in school before Easter. We very much missed our usual Spring Term Whole School Musical but made up for it with two exciting Easter productions. Those who were able to return after half term from the Blue and Yellow contact groups joined forces to produce our version of ‘The Three Trees’. This is a moving tale of disappointment as three trees, despite their dreams of greatness, are made into a manger, a small fishing boat and worst of all, a cross. Our youngest children worked fantastically well together, gaining confidence and teamwork skills producing this Easter tale, greatly enjoyed by their online audience. Red Group and older children from Blue Group contributed to the retelling of the Easter story in drama and song. Pupils captured the contrasting joy of Palm Sunday with Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and sadness of Good Friday with Jesus’ crucifixion. Both productions ended with our favourite hymn, ‘Zip Bam Boo’!
