Crashing Conclusion

In technology club, groups of children have been designing and constructing lollipop stick bridges.  The objective was to find a design which is both strong and light.  Each bridge was of the same overall length and was weighed before loading.  The project came to a crashing conclusion at one of our Friday assemblies when the bridges were tested to destruction.

Well done to William and Charlotte whose bridge was the lightest and held the whole 10kg weight, also gaining credit for aesthetic qualities — symmetry, shape and school colours design!  Some bridges smashed spectacularly under loading, though all carried at least 1kg!
